What is a Network Vulnerability Assessment?
​The Cyber Resilience Centre offers two types of Network Vulnerability Assessment; Remote and Internal.

A Remote Network Vulnerability Assessment remotely reviews how your business is connected to the internet like an attacker would—performing Reconnaissance, scanning and looking for potential weaknesses.

An Internal Network Vulnerability Assessment will require access to your internal network and systems. You are simulating someone who has gained access to the internet or an insider threat from an employee.
How does a Vulnerability Assessment work?
The Remote Network Vulnerability Assessment uses the same toolsets and skill sets that hackers use to map your organisation's internet connections.
This service also benefits from regional Police and National Cyber Security Centre intelligence to capture the latest known threats and techniques cybercriminals use.
The Internal Network Vulnerability Assessment will scan and review your internal networks and systems, looking for weaknesses such as poorly maintained or designed systems, out-of-date services, insecure access controls, or opportunities to access and steal sensitive data.
Both Vulnerability Assessments will be supported with reporting that describes, in plain language, what each weakness means to your business and the associated risks. Additionally, it will also contain plans and guidance on how to fix discovered flaws.
