The National Cyber Security Centre has announced a new 'Readiness Tool' which has been developed by IASME, first announced at CyberUK.
This new Cyber Essentials Readiness Tool is an interactive website that helps you take a look at your business cybersecurity. The tool works by having you complete a questionnaire, the results help you to gauge your current level of cybersecurity in relation to where you need to be to achieve Cyber Essentials.
Cyber Essentials is a simple but effective Government-approved scheme for businesses that the Cyber Resilience Centre supports through our Cyber Essentials Partners network.
The scheme addresses the essentials of cyber security which can protect your business from the majority of common internet threats. The Cyber Essentials certification badge, lets your customers and supply chain know that you have achieved a recognised standard and are serious about keeping your devices, your network and your data secure.
This free tool has been developed to help those businesses who don’t know where to start. The Readiness Tool works as the first step in your journey towards becoming Cyber Essentials certified. Using the tool will help to educate you and shed light on some of the more technical terms and creating a tailored pathway for you to follow.
The questions used have been collated to assume you have no technical knowledge and are written in plain English, allowing you to work at your own pace, save your progress, and complete them in your own time. The questionnaire includes additional guidance documents to help you understand the five technical controls and how they relate to your business.
You can view the Cyber Essential Readiness tool on the IASME website.
