The NWCRC was established in 2019 as the first centre in the country and a pathfinder to the Home Office

The Cyber Resilience Centre is a trusted, not-for-profit venture between North West Police forces and Manchester Digital

Our ambition is that every business within our region will have the skills and knowledge to protect themselves from online attacks to make the region one of the safest places to live, work and do business.

We achieve this by providing education, testing and training delivered by our team of trusted professionals, seconded police officers and Ethical Hacking students studying cybersecurity at local universities.

We are proud to be part of a national network of regional Cyber Resilience Centres featured in the HM Government National Cyber Strategy 2022.

These services are an essential part of our offering as SMEs often:

They don't have the budget to go to a consultancy when considering their cybersecurity needs.

Are unsure about beginning their cybersecurity journey and would like to learn from a trusted independent source before investing further in private sector solutions.

Our Senior Cyber Security Consultant trains and oversees our Junior Cyber Security Consultants to guide SMEs who are new or unsure about cybersecurity and need help getting up-to-speed.

Putting into practice the knowledge they've gained at university and learning new skills through mentoring and training masterclasses – a precious asset to the local community.

This immersive experience gives students the chance to grow their knowledge and skillset, with benefits including:

The chance to work on the forefront of cybersecurity research, including involvement in large-scale projects.

Becoming business-savvy and working with a flexible approach.

Keeping up to date with the latest techniques being used in the industry.

Leaving the programme workplace-ready, with enhanced technical, client, and soft skills.

The programme is perfect for students interested in the area who want to help local SMEs become more cyber secure.

Our students leave with not only a fantastic degree, but highly sought-after experience working with law enforcement agencies and private sector clients, and many go on to gain employment with companies in some of the best graduate positions across the UK.
